This Privacy Policy describes how UEU ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the UEU queue management application ("App") and its related browser views and cloud services. UEU is designed to be local-first: the day-to-day operation of your queue runs entirely on the device you install the App on, and customer queue data does not leave your local network unless you explicitly enable an optional cloud feature. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
ABOUT THE APP
UEU turns a single iPhone, iPad, or Android tablet into a complete queue management system. The device runs a local server on your Wi-Fi network that powers three browser views: a kiosk where customers register, a staff dashboard for calling and managing the queue, and an ambient display board for waiting areas. No internet connection is required for these core features, and customer-facing queue data is stored locally on the host device.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
On-Device Queue Data
When you operate a queue, the App stores the following on the host device only:
- Customer names or nicknames entered at the kiosk (nickname mode)
- Ticket numbers issued (ticket mode)
- Counter assignments, service outcomes, wait times, and queue history
- Your business settings, branding, forms, staff records, and counter configuration
This data is saved in a local database on the device and is served only to browsers on the same local network. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party unless you enable Cloud Backup (see Section 2.3).
Account Information
Creating a UEU account is optional and only required if you choose to use cloud features. When you register or sign in, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your password (stored only in hashed form; we never store plain-text passwords)
- A device name and an anonymous device fingerprint used to associate your license with your device
Cloud Backup Data
If you enable Cloud Backup, the App packages your queue history, settings, forms, and staff records, compresses them, and uploads them to our backup servers at api.ueu.app so they can be restored later. Cloud Backup is off by default. We only receive this data when you turn the feature on or tap "Back Up Now." You can disable backups and request deletion of stored backups at any time.
Anonymous Diagnostic Beacon
On first launch, the App sends a one-time anonymous beacon to api.ueu.app to support license verification and basic product telemetry. This beacon contains:
- Device platform (iOS or Android) and operating system version
- App version
- An anonymous install fingerprint
The beacon does not contain your name, your customers' data, or any other personal information.
Purchase and Subscription Data
The App is sold as a one-time purchase, and optional cloud storage is offered as a subscription. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive a transaction identifier and subscription status from the app stores to verify your license and entitlement.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the limited information we collect to:
- Operate your local queue on the host device
- Verify your license and the device it is linked to
- Provide, store, and restore Cloud Backups when you enable them
- Authenticate your account and keep you signed in
- Maintain the security and integrity of our cloud services
- Understand aggregate platform and version usage through the anonymous beacon
LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, we process information on the following bases: performance of our contract with you (operating the App and cloud services you request), our legitimate interests (license verification, security, and product improvement), and your consent (optional Cloud Backup and account creation).
DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
On-device data is stored in a local database on the host device. Account tokens and credentials stored on the device are kept in encrypted storage. Communication between the App and our cloud services uses HTTPS with certificate pinning, and account sessions are protected by signed, expiring tokens.
You control on-device data directly: clearing it, performing a daily reset, or uninstalling the App removes it from the device. Cloud Backups are retained until you delete them or close your account. After an account deletion request, we delete or anonymize your account profile and stored backups, except for limited information we may need to retain for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or billing reconciliation.
DATA RETENTION
On-device queue entries are moved to local history and periodically reset according to your settings (for example, the daily reset). We retain account information and Cloud Backups for as long as your account is active or until you request deletion.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is a business tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
If you enable Cloud Backup, your data may be processed and stored on servers located in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- The right to access the personal information we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate information
- The right to request deletion of your account and associated cloud data
- The right to withdraw consent for optional processing such as Cloud Backup
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App does not embed third-party advertising networks or behavioral analytics SDKs in its customer-facing views. The third-party services we rely on are the Apple App Store and Google Play (purchases and license verification) and Amazon Web Services (optional Cloud Backup hosting), as described in Section 5.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
